Ingredients

Rosemary-Ginger Syrup
¼ cup white sugar
¼ cup water
2 thin slices peeled fresh ginger
1 sprig fresh rosemary
Cocktail Ingredients
1 Bosc or Bartlett pear, cored and sliced into ¼-inch thick slices
1 cup pear nectar
2 oz gin
Ice cubes
Approximately 2 cups ginger ale
2 rosemary sprigs, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Rosemary-Ginger Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, water, ginger slices, and rosemary sprig.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
Stir until the sugar completely dissolves.
Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool fully before using.

Step 2: Grill the Pears
Preheat your gas grill to medium-high heat (400–500°F / 200–260°C).
Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
Grill the pear slices for about 2 minutes per side, until lightly charred but still firm.
Transfer to a cutting board and allow to cool slightly.
Cut a small notch into 2 pear slices so they can rest on the rim of each glass.

Step 3: Shake the Cocktail
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
Add:
2 tablespoons rosemary-ginger syrup
1 cup pear nectar
2 oz gin
Shake vigorously until chilled.
Pour evenly into two mason jars or cocktail glasses filled with ice.
